Netley Marsh weekend a roaring success!

Motorcycling enthusiasts from all over Europe helped to make the record-breaking two-day 19th Carole Nash Eurojumble a truly international affair....

Hundreds of bikes gleamed in the sun as owners from countries including Germany, Spain, Poland, Holland Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland explored the event at Netley Marsh, Hampshire, on September 7-8.

There were thousands of visitors from closer to home too and attendance at the event was 5% up on last year – itself a record breaker!

Classic Bike Shows organiser Nick Mowbray said,“This was undoubtedly the biggest and best Eurojumble we’ve ever held and it really was a ‘Euro’ jumble this time. A lot of people took advantage of the opportunity to camp out over the weekend as well and the evening entertainment, a new element introduced last year, was superb. Our Netley Marsh event is becoming more than just an autojumble and we have plans to expand it to two and a half days next year.”

He said that the 20 Carole Nash Eurojumble would begin with a full day on the Friday, followed by a full day on Saturday and a half-day on Sunday.

Visitors to Netley Marsh this year found a huge selection of motorcycles, parts and products to browse through. More than 300 traders offered wares such as a Rollcast tandem cycle in good condition, a frame for a wasp sidecar outfit, an Excelsior Manxman last taxed in 1957 and a tidy-looking 1934 OK Supreme racer that could have been yours for £8000.

Eight awards were handed out too, with best in show going to Martin Taylor for his 1960 750 Norton.

This now goes forward to the final round of the Classic Bikers Club Bike of the Year Award that takes place at the 19th Carole Nash Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show at Stafford on October 20-21.
