Isle of Man racing legend John McGuinness, now with 19 TT wins to his credit, was guest of honour at Douglas’s WHSmiths last Sunday to sign copies of Island Racer 2012 magazine...
IoM ace John McGuinness has surpassed the late, great Mike Hailwood's tally of 14 TT wins at the Island and is fast closing down Joey Dunlop's incredible total of 26 victories. He was the man to beat in last week's practice sessions, regularly topping the leader board, and has already won two events since the racing began on Sunday.
The special book signing event took place on Sunday, June 3rd at the WHSmiths branch in Strand Street, Douglas. Sunday's weather was overcast but it didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the gathering crowd of bikers outside WHSmiths, young and old, as the queue snaked down Strand Street.
Steven O'Hara, Circulation Manager of Mortons Media Group said: ‘John was ever the gentleman and captured the crowd's imagination. We are thrilled that such an iconic figure gave up time in his busy schedule to support Island Racer 2012 magazine.'
Island Racer 2012 is written by by Motorcycle Sport & Leisure editor and British Eurosport TV presenter Tony Carter and is the only magazine you need for this year’s Isle of Man coverage, featuring in-depth articles on the competitors, past and present, a full event schedule, plus a free cover-mounted DVD circuit guide, so you can fully experience the excitement of the most compelling and dangerous race in the year's calendar.
